At participating stalls, you can pay using:

Cash is not accepted directly at participating stalls.

If you prefer to use cash, visit the Cracker Carnival Help Desk, where you can use cash or EFTPOS to purchase a prepaid Cracker Carnival Card and then use the card at participating stalls.

Please note: Gold coin donations will still be accepted at the entrances and at the Year 6 busking stalls.

Think of it as a kids’ Opal Card, but for Carnival fun!

The Cracker Carnival Card is our cashless payment option for the Carnival.

Each card has its own unique QR code, which is scanned at participating stalls when making a purchase.

You can load money onto the card and use it to pay for food, games, rides and more.

It’s especially handy for children, giving them a little more independence on Carnival day without needing to carry cash or a bank card.

Unlimited Ride Wristbands will still be available after presales close, but the discounted presale price will no longer apply.

Before Carnival day

Visit https://crackercarnival.com.au/ and follow the instructions to create an online account and purchase your Cracker Carnival Card.

You can also pre-load funds onto your card before Carnival day.

If you purchase your card during the presale period, it will be prepared for presale collection.

If you purchase your card online after presales close, it will be available for collection from the Cracker Carnival Help Desk on Carnival day.

On Carnival day

Visit the Cracker Carnival Help Desk, where you can:

• create an online account and purchase a Cracker Carnival Card; or
• purchase a prepaid Cracker Carnival Card using cash or EFTPOS without creating an online account.

Creating an online account makes managing your Cracker Carnival Card much easier.

With your account, you can:

• purchase and pre-load a Cracker Carnival Card;
• top up your card balance;
• check your balance and transaction history;
• suspend your card if it is lost;
• manage multiple cards for different family members; or
• choose to share one card/QR code as a family.

Having an account also makes it easier for our team to assist if you have a card or transaction issue.

Absolutely! 

The Cracker Carnival Card gives children a little independence when making purchases around the Carnival.

Parents can decide how much to load onto the card and, if it is linked to an online account, keep an eye on the balance and transaction history.

If your card is linked to an online account, you can pre-load or top up your Cracker Carnival Card through the Parent Portal.

Need a little more Carnival spending money on the day? No problem, you can top up online during the Carnival too.

💳 All online pre-load and top-up payments are securely processed through PayPal.

Murray Farm Public School P&C does not store your debit or credit card details. Your payment details are securely handled by PayPal during the payment process.

If you prefer not to create an online account, visit the Cracker Carnival Help Desk and purchase a prepaid Cracker Carnival Card using cash or EFTPOS.

You can then use your prepaid card at participating stalls around the Carnival.

If you’d like to create an account instead, our friendly volunteers can also help you get set up using your mobile phone.

If your card is linked to an online account, you can check your balance and transaction history through the Parent Portal.

On Carnival day, participating vendors can also:

• check your card balance before a purchase; and
• let you know your remaining balance after a purchase.

Our dedicated volunteers will also be around participating stalls to help with card balance questions.

Running low? Time for a quick top-up! 

Your Cracker Carnival Card needs enough balance to cover the full purchase, as our current system does not support split payments.

If your card is linked to an online account, you can top it up online.

You can also visit the Cracker Carnival Help Desk for assistance.

Unfortunately, split payments are not supported.

For example, if your purchase is $10 and your Cracker Carnival Card has $7 remaining, you cannot pay $7 using the Carnival Card and the remaining $3 by EFTPOS in the same transaction.

You can either top up your card first or use another accepted payment method for the full purchase.

If your card goes missing:

1. Log in to your online account.
2. Suspend the lost card so it can no longer be used.
3. Visit the Cracker Carnival Help Desk.
4. Our volunteers will help arrange a replacement card.
5. Your remaining balance will be transferred to the replacement card.

If you have a prepaid Cracker Carnival Card without an online account

Please visit the Cracker Carnival Help Desk and speak with one of our volunteers.

We’ll help you arrange a replacement card.

Tip: Linking your card to an online account makes it easier to protect and manage your card if it goes missing.

There will be plenty of opportunities to enjoy your Carnival balance throughout the day! 

Keep an eye out towards the end of the Carnival too — participating stalls may have some last-chance specials and end-of-day bargains.

If you still have funds remaining, please refer to the refund arrangements below.

Refund arrangements depend on whether your card is linked to an online account or is a prepaid card.

Cards linked to an online account

After the Carnival:

• If your remaining balance is less than $5, the balance will be donated to the school. 💛
• If your remaining balance is $5 or more, a refund option will appear in your online account.
• You can choose to donate your remaining balance to the school or request a refund.
• Refund requests will be available for 14 days after the Carnival.
• Refunds will be processed through PayPal or the original payment method, where applicable.

Prepaid Cracker Carnival Cards

Our system does not support online refunds of unused balances on prepaid Cracker Carnival Cards that are not linked to an online account.

If you have an unused balance on a prepaid card, please visit the Cracker Carnival Help Desk before the event closes and speak with one of our volunteers so we can assist with the available refund process.

We encourage you to make the most of your balance during the Carnival — and keep an eye out for those end-of-day specials! 

Thank you for supporting Murray Farm Public School. 

Because the Cracker Carnival is a school fundraising event, we do not provide refunds simply because you change your mind.

However, a refund or another appropriate remedy may be available where there is a genuine problem with a purchase, for example:

• an incorrect transaction;
• an item or service is unavailable after payment;
• you have been charged incorrectly; or
• there is another problem with the product or service provided.

If you paid with a Cracker Carnival Card

Please speak with the vendor first.

The vendor can scan your Cracker Carnival Card and submit a refund request for the transaction.

Once the request has been submitted, please visit the Cracker Carnival Help Desk, where our volunteers can review the request and help resolve the issue.

If you paid by credit or debit card (EFTPOS)

Refunds cannot be processed at the stall through the Cracker Carnival Card system.

Please visit the Cracker Carnival Help Desk, where our team can assist with the appropriate process if a refund or other remedy is available.

Please note: Submitting a refund request does not automatically mean a refund will be approved. The appropriate outcome will depend on the circumstances of the purchase.

Nothing in this policy limits any rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law.

Online payments for Cracker Carnival Card pre-loads and top-ups are securely processed through PayPal.

Murray Farm Public School P&C does not store your debit or credit card details.

To create and manage an online account, you’ll be asked to provide:

• parent/guardian name;
• email address; and
• mobile phone number.

Student/child name

If you choose to provide it, it will be used to help us organise and distribute presale items to your family.

Personal information is used to provide and manage the Cracker Carnival cashless service, including account and card management, transactions, customer support and, where applicable, presale item distribution.

If you have an online account, you can view the balance and transaction history for the Cracker Carnival Cards linked to your account through the Parent Portal.

Authorised P&C administrators may also access relevant account or transaction information where reasonably necessary to:

• operate the cashless system;
• reconcile transactions; or
• assist with account, card or payment enquiries.

Yes! Cracker Cards are available to everyone attending the Cracker Carnival — you don’t need to be an MFPS family to purchase one.

You can purchase your Cracker Card through the Cracker Carnival website and choose from two easy collection options:

• Pre-Carnival collection: Pick up your card during one of our presale handout times. Collection dates and times will be updated on the website.
• Collect on Carnival Day: Your card will be ready for you to pick up when you arrive at the Carnival.
